Frequently Asked Questions
- Q. What should I wear/bring with me?
-
A. Your group should wear closed in flat shoes (runners are ideal) and regular glasses/sunglasses will be fine to protect your eyes from occasional target fragments. T-shirt or shirts with a minimum short sleeve (vest tops are not recommended). Ear plugs will be provided.
- Q. How long will it take?
-
A. It takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on the number size of your group.
- Q. Is it safe?
-
A. Clay target shooting is one of the safest sports you can take part in. We are governed by strict legislation and guidelines and we take safety very seriously. At no time will an inexperienced or unlicensed shooter be unsupervised while shooting.
- Q. Can I bring my fathers/grandfathers/uncles gun?
-
A. No. Unless you are a licensed shooter you cannot have a gun in your possession. We have a variety of club guns available for you to use.
- Q. Do I need a licence?
-
A. No. Unlicensed shooters in your group will be required to sign a form in which they declare that they do not have a criminal record.
- Q. Someone in our group has a physical disability, can they still shoot?
-
A. Shooting is a great sport for a number of physically disabled people. If you are able to see the target (one eye is ok) and hold the gun safely then you are able to shoot. Wheelchairs can be accommodated subject to ground not being wet.
- Q. Can I bring my own food and drinks?
-
A. You are welcome to bring your own food and use the outdoor BBQ. We have a licensed bar which is open from 1pm on Saturdays and alcohol can be purchased if you have completed your shooting session.
- Q. Can I bring my children along?
-
A. Children 11 years and older are allowed to shoot and we have smaller guns for them to use if required. Children under 11 cannot shoot but we have a playground for them or they can watch from outside the safety barrier.
