Thank you to our valued volunteers!

A big thank you to all of our members that turned out for the working bee (30th and 31st December 2011). With your dedication and efforts our club is progressing into one of SE Qld premier shooting grounds.

It is great to see the tower standing, with trap rails and platforms ready to go, the completion of another 2 five stand sporting sheds. We have also cleaned up the water runoff drains, slashed the grounds, cleaned up the five stand mound and removed a lot of junk that we had accumulated over the years.

Once again a big thank you to all those who gave up their time to help today!

	Well done guys

	DECEMBER 18TH 2011

The weather was cloudy & overcast, with the possibility of the odd rain shower, but by 8.00 am shooters were arriving very quickly, by just after 8.30 the first of 13 squads went to the first stand. With a total of 78 shooters in all.

The format of the day was six shooters per squad, six stands, each shooting six targets, being two single targets, followed by a report pair, followed by a sim pair before moving on to the next layout & so on. Once shooting the first six layouts, they then restarted back at No1 for the “second wave” which was all shot as doubles.

As the first squads started to move around the layouts, the word soon spread that some of the targets were very hard ! A “going away” Super bee from a tower being just one?? Some interesting tactics started to emerge. One (DTL shooter) was very skillful in loading a further two shells after missing with the first two while the teal was sill floating in the air, with a call of “ONE”. The BOOM of a black power load rung-out every now and then, once the smoke cleared he could then fire his second barrel.

The day ran smooth & on time with no real trap problems, and by around 1.00 pm most shooters had finished the course and was ready for lunch.

Full credit to our girls in the canteen, as usual the “Tucker” was 100%, ham, chicken, salads, followed by a dessert. Manu Feidel (M.K.R.) could learn something there !!!

Also we would all like to thank: Mark Baldwin, Chris Chapman, Mark Jones and a hand full of helpers for setting up a great course on the Saturday (not quite so hard next time boys please) Steve Clark as shoot marshal for the day. Looking forward to a bigger, better, program next Christmas.

	Please See results Page
