As you know the club has four types of shooting disciplines
Trap [DTL], Skeet, 5 Stand, Sporting Clays, even so, “It is important to remember that we are one club & one cub only “
Each discipline relies on volunteers to help load and set traps before a Sunday competition, 5 Stand & Sporting Clays are well represented and have no problems with setting trap targets, the same is said for Skeet trap setting.
However! Trap [DTL] is a different story, mainly because of the different targets that need to be set, example: Continental and or Double Rise, these are part of the ACTA discipline program. Even to set targets for standard Double Barrel needs to be correct to the best of a trapper’s ability.
Our monthly Trap competition could be in jeopardy!!!
We urgently require a competent person that would be able to be taught the setting of traps each monthly competition, full training would be given if required, a commitment to DTL Sundays [except when on holidays or maybe sick.]
The person would need to have a thick hide, why? You ask, for every target a shooter misses it will be YOUR fault, it will also be YOUR fault if: The sky is to blue, too many clouds, not enough sun, back ground trees are in the way, raining too much, glasses are fogging up etc, etc.
Do you know of a person that may be interested & that can commit? if so, in the first instance contact the club Secretary for some further information.
